Oriented Strand Board Grade 3 (OSB3 per EN 300) is the workhorse structural panel for European construction. Made from fast-growing poplar and pine strands bonded with melamine-urea glue under high temperature and pressure. Superior load-to-weight ratio compared to plywood at lower cost. CE marked with Declaration of Performance.

Why OSB3

OSB3 is the most widely used structural panel in Europe for a reason — consistent mechanical properties, competitive price, and reliable supply from established production lines.

High Load Capacity

Bending strength (MOR): 18 N/mm² (min). Modulus of elasticity (MOE): 3,500 N/mm². Structural framing, flooring and roofing applications.

Dimensional Stability

Swelling rate under 15% after 24-hour water immersion (EN 317). No hollow cores, no delamination. Consistent performance in humid conditions.

Cost Effective

30–40% lower price than equivalent structural plywood. Fast-growing species (poplar) make efficient use of raw material. Excellent value for budget-conscious projects.

Common Questions

OSB3 vs plywood — which is better?

It depends on the application. OSB3 has comparable structural performance to plywood at 30–40% lower cost and more consistent mechanical properties (no soft spots, no delamination). Plywood is preferred for wet conditions (marine use) and applications requiring screw-holding in thin cross-sections. OSB3 is the standard for construction framing, flooring and packaging in Europe.

Can OSB3 be used outdoors?

OSB3 per EN 300 is rated for structural use in humid conditions (not permanently exposed to weather). For exterior applications, OSB4 (higher mechanical rating) or exterior-grade ply is recommended. OSB3 can be used outdoors temporarily during construction but should be covered or sealed if exposed for more than 60 days.

Do you supply FSC-certified OSB3?

FSC-certified OSB3 is available on request with 30-day lead time (controlled supply chain). We maintain EUDR due diligence documentation for EU market buyers. Controlled Wood declarations available for non-FSC certified material.

What is the formaldehyde emission level?

E1: ≤8 mg/100g (EN 120). This is equivalent to CARB Phase 2 and Japanese F★★★★. For interior use in confined spaces (e.g., children's furniture), E1 OSB3 is the minimum standard.

Lead time for 2×40HQ mixed OSB3?

Standard items (9/11/12/15/18/22mm): 12–18 days from order confirmation. Mixed thicknesses in same container: no extra lead time. T&G profile: +7 days. Exact delivery date confirmed at order confirmation.
