What Makes Our Bed Slats Different

We produce bed slats specifically for European bed frame manufacturers. LVL construction, consistent slot positions, and FSC chain-of-custody in every shipment.

LVL Construction

Laminated veneer lumber — each slat 7–9 birch veneers, cross-bonded under pressure. Consistent strength: MOE ≥ 10,000 N/mm². No knots, no splits, no warping.

Euro-Standard Slots

Pre-drilled center-distance slots: 32mm or 40mm. Position tolerance ±0.5mm. Compatible with all major European bed hardware systems (Tannewitz, Wagner, Hettich).

Surface Finish

Sanded 120/150-grit both sides. Clean, paintable surface. No splinters, no voids. Tested for hardness and edge chip resistance before packing.

Common Questions

What's the difference between LVL and solid wood bed slats?

LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) is made by bonding thin birch veneers with parallel grain direction. This eliminates natural wood defects (knots, grain deviation) and gives consistent mechanical properties in every piece. Solid wood slats vary in strength piece-to-piece and are prone to warping. LVL is the standard for professional European bed manufacturers.

Can you produce non-standard slot spacing or slot diameter?

Yes. We can program any center distance and any slot diameter. Common variations: 40mm for heavy-duty frames, 50mm for economy frames. Slot diameter: 8mm standard, 6mm or 10mm on request. MOQ for non-standard slot config: 10,000 pieces.

Do you supply FSC-certified bed slats?

Yes. FSC-COC (Chain of Custody) is standard for FSC-certified orders. We maintain separate production lines for FSC and non-FSC — no cross-contamination. EUDR due diligence documents available for EU market.

What is your production lead time for 20,000 pieces?

20,000 pieces (mixed lengths, standard slots): 12–15 days from order confirmation. We maintain safety stock of standard sizes (38×90×1000/1200/1400/1600mm) and can often ship from stock within 5–7 days for re-orders.

How many slats fit in a 40HQ container?

Approximately 800–1,000 slats per 40HQ (depending on length mix). A typical 40HQ contains 400–500 sets of slats (2 per position in a double bed = 16–20 slats per bed × 25–30 beds). We optimize length mix for maximum container efficiency.
